Yusuf Islam wins damages against Murdoch papers

Yusuf Islam, the pop star formerly known as Cat Stevens, has been awarded "substantial damages" by two national newspapers who alleged he had supported terrorism.



Mr Islam, 57, revealed that both The Sun and The Sunday Times had agreed to publish apologies after the articles appeared last October.

The singer said the newspapers claimed he had supported terrorism and declared the US was right to refuse him entry in September last year.

Reacting to the settlement, he said last night: "It seems to be the easiest thing in the world these days to make scurrilous accusations against Muslims, and, in my case, it directly impacts on my relief work and damages my reputation as an artist. The harm done is often difficult to repair - however, I am delighted by the settlement, which helps vindicate my character and good name."

Well I'm sure everyone knows its us Muslims vs. Western Civilization, us vs. Ropert Murdock and the rest of his disgusting colinizers. The clash of Civilizations are in full effect. Now what are we going to do about this?

How can our generation educate the masses and inform them that Muslims in Lebanon and Muslims in Palestine sorry CIVILIANS (CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS, ETC IN LEBANON AND PALESTINE) are fighting for thier lives and thier land that is being Illegally taken from them. How can we inform the masses that Muslims are not terrorist? How can we inform people that we are DEFENDING OUR RIGHT TO LIVE? How can we stop this obvious racism that has plagued our Ummah?

To be honest PROTESTS will not do anything, they are cute but thats about it. We saw the millions of people that rallied against the war in Iraq, and what did it do? (I'm not saying that the war was justified or not this is not the point so please do not side track this post) We saw the protests all over the world which let the world know how angry we were and still are with Israel for its REAL TERRORIST acts of bombing hundreds of women and children.... but what did it do? Really people we need to engage in more EFFECTIVE strategies that will wake people up to the TRUTH.

What and how this will be done, Ya Allah I do not have the answer yet. What I do know is that we are all responsible for doing something about this crises because it will only get worse. What you can do, will be up to each member here on this site who recognizes the evil these two countries are doing.

America and Israel seem to have a limitless amount of money to fund thier racist agenda, and yet I know of Muslims who still support starbucks and other companies with either direct or thier indirect cash (ratings for CNN/FOX NEWS) money for thier bloody cup of coffee, and they can talk all they want about how bad Isreal is, while they hypocritically fund Israel at the same time.

Really what can we do? I thought about starting either an AM radio station or an internet radio station but I think an am station would be more effective, but this will be hard to accomplish. Please for those who are serious about making some kind of change either on a macro or micro scale, please the least you can do is share your thoughts, they will be much appreciated, and inshallah you will be rewarded for your deeds.
